Derek Dorame LOVES his new bike. It's an S&M BTM Hoder Signature, translucent black built to fly and grind!
I have been working with Pro BMXer Derek Dorame. He rides here in Santa Fe and I have been shooting him for a few years now. When you look through these images you may notice that there are no brakes on his bike. Derek says that he is able to do more tricks without the lever and cable associated with a brake. There are other ways to stop, Flintstone-style for instance. It also forces you to get dialed on your bike, knowing exactly how it handles and riding very deliberately. The feet and hands move to different parts of the bike in this new style of riding. Derek rides for Rob and Charlie’s, Zorg Bike Co., Tip Plus Distribution and S&M Bikes. We just launched Rob and Charlie’s Facebook Pages, there is one for BMX only. Follow the links in the sidebar on my homepage to find the shop and info for all of the parts on Derek Dorame’s machine.
Derek Dorame rides the Animal Bikes Steve Hamilton plastic pedals, they are super light and don't bite quite as bad as metal when they hit your shin.
The Fit Bikes Cranks and Mid BB Kit is so sweet. Check out that H-shaping on the arms for rigidity. Derek says it's the only set that he hasn't broken.
The S&M BTM Hoder Signature Frame in translucent black has the option of a real head badge too, if you're into that... I AM!
The S&M Redneck XLT stem is super-sweet. Derek Dorame custom scratched his headset spacer to match!
Derek Dorame rides for S&M Bikes, Zorg Bike Co. and Tip Plus Distribution.
Derek has a Shadow Conspiracy Pivotal Seat that integrates to the seatpost with one bolt.
Primo's Wheels and ANIMAL MK3S plastic-sleeved pegs murders out the front end.
Derek's Zorg Hub Guard is a prototype. The guard and pegs can be rotated for a fresh surface as they wear.
I LOVE S&M's detail on the end of the chainstay. SO SWEET!
The integrated headtube is an awesome feature, keeps everything clean and you can run a Campagnolo headset if you like... I do.
Derek Dorame's signature handlebar are the Dorame Bars V2 from Zorg Bike Co. available here in Santa Fe at Rob and Charlie's.
S&M did the cut-out BTM letters on the brake bridge... classy... it stands for Big Time Mobbin' or Big Tittied Mama' that part is up to you.
We had a quick session on the loading docks behind the shop. Derek busted a few grinds and we called it a day.
